Last week, Society of Women Engineers (SWE) brought 16,000 people to the LA Convention Center for a three-day event where attendees connected with industry leaders, engaged in networking, and attended workshops on leadership and engineering. CTD partnered with SWE to host the seventh LACC Career Academy. Five female students from LA High School's STEAM Magnet and Girls Academic Leadership Academy came to LACC to participate in SWE's Invent It. Build It. program and attend a Lunch & Learn with female engineers to hear about their career paths. The LACC Career Academy is an initiative created in 2021 by CTD to provide underserved youth with the opportunity to meet with inspirational professionals from a variety of industries to learn about interesting professions and career paths
